I say it's my version because I have not read much on the link between our neurological medical condition and the digestion in the science world. At least nothing that forms a formal conclusion in any one direction.In the nutrition arena there are many claims to this link. I have written quite extensively on it, as I feel there is a huge connection. Science is behind the fact that the stomach digestion slows down to deal with the migraine. Before and after attacks, some of us experience cravings for salty or sweet foods, or a complete loss of appetite. I throw up most solids but can tolerate soups and broths. Sorry, too much information! Many years ago I was experimenting with diet, as you do when you are a migraine suffer, and I came across Donna Gates book called the Body Ecology Diet. It changed the way I looked at digestion. Read about that here Migraine Headaches Nutrition . Now I know that in some cases, fermented food can bring on migraines - so you just have to experiment. But all of that aside, there is a wealth of information available here for us to use. I have just come across her free Healthy Gut Summit that you might just want to check out.
